Yeaton

Jeremy Burrows of Bedford read about our lack of club layouts due to the fire in November 2008 and decided to help us in our hour of need. He had purchased a part complete N gauge layout named ‘Yeaton’ from East Ham Model Railway Club, but his other commitments had prevented him from developing the model.  He offered it to us free of charge (including delivery!) on the understanding that at such time as we retire it, Yeaton is sold and the proceeds split 50-50. How could we refuse an offer like that?

All the trackwork is complete and working following resolution of some small glitches, possibly caused by the long storage in Jeremy’s horse lorry!  We are about to start scenic development, and this entry will be extended soon with details of our plans.

The layout, as East Ham MRC intended, will remain fictitious and not reflecting any particular area or era so that we are not constrained in our choice of stock to run when it is exhibition ready.  At this stage, we cannot predict a completion date as we are still in the early stages of planning.
